    Hi De Orc,

This is a falus (2,90 gram) or 2 falus(5,80 gram) from Morocco, minted in Fes during the reign of Sidi Mohamed IV.(1276-1290AH or 1859-1873AD)

wow! That's funny. I was in Spain on a trip with my school, and visited a coins shop. They had a mixed box of foreign coins for 50 euro cents a piece. I saw 3 of these in there and decided to buy all 3. I didn't knwo what they were until I emailed Stack's Auction House and they told me that they were indeed modern Morrocans and were worth maybe a couple of bucks apiece.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!:thumb:

I've been looking around here for some weeks, but I never posted. I am quite active on some Dutch-Flemish forums, where I discuss (or determinate) mostly modern coins (18th century till now).
I am impressed by the number of people and the knowledge disposed here on Coin Talk.
I'm sure I'll have a great time here!

Nice job Bart. You honestly just beat me to the answer. The reverse is a signature Moroccan reverse-by the way.

Don't be fooled if you see these items offered on Ebay as ancient Jewish Coins....

I have seen people overpay on these based on this premis....

EBAY AUCTION No bids on this one....but who knows.
