    Just received this a few days ago. It’s circulated but clean. Just 866,000 we’re minted. It’s a 1931-S, a depression date.

    The Great Depression really put a damper on coin production. In 1932 the mint system issued only cents and the Washington Quarter because it was the First President’s 200th birthday. In 1933 mint system issued cents and reasons unclear, the San Francisco Mint issued half dollars.
