Hi, this is for you folks who know something about star notes. Is a 2009a $100 star note, uncirculated, worth saving? What would wholesale/retail price be? I'm assuming a 2006 star $100 with a run of 3,200,000 would be a spender? Thanks in advance, Steve
Looks like recent auction prices have been $125 and up....more if it is graded with a good grade. Although there are lower print runs, 128,000 and 160,000, a print run of 320,000 is good. How about a scan, or at least a serial number ?
Just to clarify, I own the hundred dollar star note. I was talking to Steve by PM about the looking up of the amount printed. He kindly made this thread to seek opinions from this forum. The note is quite nice, series 2009a. LH12864261* I have no way of posting pictures.
It is a keeper for sure (I collect star notes of almost any condition), but premium depends on condition and if someone would buy it. $100 star notes have collectors, but not many because it is a high denomination bill, so a lot of money tied up in it.
Got to have pics to give accurate information, unc is a broad term the amount can be substantial depending on the grade.
