Hello please be gentle ...was wondering about this 1994 D penny and it possibly having a repunched mintmark and possibly the 4 and the first 9 being doubled? 20210912_004050.jpg 20210912_003837.jpg 20210912_003821.jpg

Hey there ! Looks like split plating. See how the Zinc appears to be showing around the mintmark especially ?

Mint Marks were not punched onto the Die after 1989.
So your coin cannot be Repunched.
Keep that in mind when searching for RPM's

I agree with split plating which is a common issue on Copper Plated Zinc Cents. Nothing major.

What you have there is MD (Machine Doubling) or DDD (Die Deterioration Doubling) or SD (Strike Doubling), all of which are called "Worthless Doubling".

Study the following links, please. Some of them were given to me by the poster right above me, who is an expert on errors.

Be sure and look up the phrase "Worthless Doubling".

    Thanks.
    Keep searching and keep posting.

I apologize @DISDIK. I should not have called @paddyman98 an expert on errors, for in fact, he is not. He is merely a specialist on errors. Errors are his special interest in collecting. It has been suggested to me by another member that I not refer to someone as an "expert" if they are not, or that at least I should say that is only my opinion, which of course, is my opinion of @paddyman98. In fact, @paddyman98 and @Fred Weinberg are the first people I turn to for information on errors.

    Please carry on.

Ty everyone...I have another what are your thoughts on this one. The 9, 8 and D show signs of doubling 20210912_082206.jpg 20210912_082243.jpg 20210912_082232.jpg

That is the same kind of doubling that I described above.
Please review the links I gave you.

You have what’s known as split plate doubling which is very common to these cheap zinc cents.

    DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling.
    It's a worn die issue.
Nothing to do with a true Doubled Die variety.

Two good examples of why I don't bother to even look closely at cents minted after 1982. What junk! IMO
