Right after the Paper Money Contest #3, I asked one of our fellow CoinTalkers, The Noost for a favor! He agreed and would not accept any payment for this endeavor! While reading my book the Engravers Line by Mr. Gene Hessler, I came upon a unique postage stamp that was engraved by Mr. Thomas Hipschen and the Letter/Numbers were engraved by Mr. Richard Everett. Hipschen also engraved parts of the current $100 note. Many of you know I do not care much for Ebay, this is where The Noost comes in! I found the stamp listed on Ebay and since I do not have an account, I asked The Noost if he would mind contacting the seller and getting me a block of 4 stamps! He did so, and did it quickly! The stamps arrived to me today and I wanted to post them for you all to see. The Noost bought 2 blocks of 4 and asked me if I wanted both...I said no thank you, please keep one for yourself. Noost, thank you for your kindness, I appreciate what you did for for me! I love this Stamp!! What do you think? Regards, RickieB
VERY COOL! I'm not a stamp collector, but I do have a few of them. This would be a great addition to a collection album that would only add to the theme. I'm gonna have to try and get me a few myself!
Anytime RickieB, glad they arrived safely. Thanks for pointing these out to me. The picture you took really pops. The seller nit777 was awesome, left feedback first(like I think you should when selling) and has a couple more left Just FYI for anyone who may want one.
Nooost..... The image is scanned at 600 dpi.. Epson Perfection 3170 Cropped and resized with PS3. Thanks again friend! All the best! RickieB
Here's a nice crossover iten between numismatics and philatily that is in my collection. This is fron the ANA in 1991, a first day cover that includes a nice token that is .999 silver. Richard
Well for anyone who is interested in the art of the engraver then I would sugest looking at stamps :hail: That is a very nice example rickie :thumb: and the envelope with the medal is quite spectacular (Love the medal)
Thanks RickieB...had to go find my own version of this cool stamp, but one that would fit in with my currency collection. some cool info on the reverse and a little card they had in the envelope as well...
I went on ebay to find the block of stamps but nit777 was out, But I did find another seller on ebay.. stampprof he had several different types with the same stamps. The one I purchased comes with a block of 4 stamps on a letterhead.
Nice! I was looking at that one too and was going to buy it until I found the ANA souvenir card with the $5000 US Note that I liked a little better.
