    In amongst all of the Republican coins that I purchased recently, I purchased a couple of others, and one was this Nero Tet.

    NERO 67/68 A.D. (Year 14, Alexandria)
    Billon Tetradrachm 24 mm., 13.36 gm.,

    Obv: NEΡΩ KΛAY KAIΣ ΣEB ΓEΡ AV, radiate bust left, wearing aegis,LIΔ to left.
    Rev: HPA APGEIA, Veiled and draped bust of Hera Argeia right, star to right.
    BMC 133; Dattari 236; Milne 297

    That is a very interesting coin with a not so common reverse. I have one with a bust of Alexandria which I believe to be more common than Hera.

    All the posts are definitely interesting examples of Tetradrachms! Those reverses are way more appealing than just another eagle (IMHO):

    I have one from the Antioch mint...unfortunately after playing around with an old photo, I never got around to a proper re-shoot:

    I love these 1st-century Alexandrian tets that are larger and finer than later issues. By sheer coincidence, I have one that some of you might be interested in the next time my coin truck drives through your neighborhood. (It's like the ice-cream truck, but it plays Respighi's Fountains of Rome.)

    Obv.: Radiate bust left, wearing aegis; L IΓ (date) before.
    Rev.: AKTIOΣ [AΠOΛΛΩ]N, laureate bust right of Apollo Aktios, slight drapery, quiver behind shoulder.
