I have a brand spanking new dollar bill - 2003 'A' form Atlanta....

My question is this... i was looking at the bill, and notice the top of the bill has a wider margin then the bottom, so i compared it to another bill and found that the bill was cut slightly 'crooked'. looking at the back of the bill, the left side is 1/16" bigger then the right. It starts at the top left corner and sloped towards the right.... the top right of the bill is slightly larger then a normal bill, but not much.

Would this abnormal cutting fetch a premium... or are these types of irregularities common???

    "small" misscuts are common
"big" misscuts do fetch a premium
Post a pic to find out if yours is a biggie or not

The cutting is not off, the printing is slightly off.

A lot of times when it goes through 4th printing to put the white boarder on the note, this happens.

I think this error occured before the note was ever printed, though. I think when the blank paper was made, one side of it was longer then the other.

Most of the time , unless the actual printing (cutting) is into the next note there isn't a very big premium . Beware of some of these on ebay also as some people buy uncut sheets from the B.E.P. and cut them theirselves passing these note as errors which they ARE NOT a true error ! A true error print or cut usually has the back or reverse as it should be and the front will be misaligned , just keep these things in mind . Hope this helps . The Reaper ;)
