You see, I bought this on auction, looking for silver actually and it caught my eye. It is nice and its also the only casino token I have. It was a lot of fun tracking down what I could about it. It was minted at the Green Duck Mint in Mississippi. Its different than the normal ones as it is not a silver token surrounded by brass or what ever. What I can gather is that it is a $40 token. So I assume it is worth Silver at least, of course Silver was higher when I bought it but I have not lost any money as I have not sold it. Its rare, I know that. I contacted the website and what they have listed is about all they know about it. They are not on eBay that I have found. There are many like it for sure but not the exact same one. If you have any other information about it, please share it with me. What is your guess as to worth? Here is some that are similar that I have seen sell, but it is not the same one.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/40-Token-Tr...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
It looks like someone might have done an acid test on the side on the right... I guess it could be toning... But it sure looks like an acid test spot.
Nope - that one is a silver core....those are common. Mine has a golden core surrounded by silver. It is about 1.5 oZ. That is exactly what I ran into trying to find it.
Very well could be, I have not noticed it before...I will have to dig it out later and double check. I do not remember it.
I have used the ANA library and staff to research some of my unusual gaming tokens. I find their archives have excellent material on this subject. If not an answer itself, you can find many additional leads from the books and periodicals they have retained. Have you contacted the casino directly? Green Duck Corporation has made some of the medals I own. They would be my first inquiry, the casino second, and the parent corporation who owns the casino; next. It all depends how much you really want the information and the effort involved. You seem to have what it takes to find out. Good luck!
I think that Casino closed after a hurricane, Green Duck has been defunct for a while, so I have looked but what I concluded was I have a semi - rare token that is 1.5oZ of silver.
Actually they are a chain of five casino's. One in Biloxi and four others off shore, most are in the Bahamas'. You could call 800-747-2839 and ask for marketing. They should be able to give you some back ground on it. There is a direct line, 228-385-6000 if the other is for reservations only. If you prefer to write them, they are at: 1980 Beach Boulevard, Biloxi Mississippi, 39530.
That is great information and I thank you for it. I will have to do that ....I thought I read the Treasure Bay was wiped out at one time.
I know it has been a while but this made me look as I was going through things.... Mine is not burnt like the picture. An interesting Strike for sure. Glad I bought it. http://www.silverstrikers.com/Web/C...reasureBayBXms/Treasure-Bay-BXms-Page-03.php/
