I was at my local today browsing the table of Whitman's in the back, when what do I come across but two complete whitman albums from 1941 to 1969 plus 1970 and then a whole bunch of blank spaces. So I opened it, and BAM, every single last coin from 41-70 (alas no 55 double) was UNC, premium bright shiny and BU, amazing. Needless to say I bought both albums, and who wouldn't at $49 each. Not a bad snag for that price, 144 coins and maybe all but 10 of them are pristine (among those ten there are three badly toned coins, a couple that look discolored, and two or three have bad fly specking or carbon spotting)

I know I'm going to break one up and fill out my really nice full sets of Lincolns, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the other set. I just coulnd't pass them up at that price.

I always pickup most lots in albums for my Jefferson set. Pick out the few that I like, throw the war nickels in a jar and sell the rest. most of the time I end up making all my money back, leaving me with a bunch of free coins.

You probably won't believe me but I was at an auction in 2007 where I saw an Indian Head Penny book. It was nearly a complete book with only the 1908S and 1909S missing. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the 1877 sitting there in the book. It was only a G-4 rated 77 but still, it was there. Some of the other Indian Heads were F12 to XF40. I was expecting the book to go for over a $1,000. Lucky for me, the auction didn't have coin people at it. I got the whole book for $62.50. I was giddy for a week.

Awesome BQ and Phil. I can barely comprehend the lottery find of Phil. BQ- you can always sell me the other album if you can't make up your mind!
