I know for many the Minerva denarii for Domitian can be very boring. After all, there does not seem to be much variation just Minerva upon Minerva. However, there are exceptions. The Minerva holding victory is one such exception and this coin is an example of another. Sure it is Minerva on the reverse but not an ordinary one. This is Minerva Victrix and she is winged. While this coin is not rare it is very much sought after even by those who might only want one or 2 Domitian denarii (though of course I do not understand that :) ). Also this coin has some honest wear. I like this because it reminds me that these coins were actually used by people on the planet almost 2000 years before the present day.

I am very happy to share my latest Domitian denarius with all of you. Please post your favorite coins with wings.

What about the New Edition, though? :p

No wings, but it illustrates a repetitive Minerva type. This one of Septimius Severus is one of about a dozen of his denarii to feature Minerva. This one is Minerva as depicted in the statue of the Palladium.

Great portrait and that is a better reverse than the norm.

Nice addition Andrew! This type is also on my wish list.
I think this type is not only popular but also relatively rare. Ric notes it as C, but unlike the other Minerva types, this one was of course only minted in the years 95-96. The other Minerva types are of course available over a much longer period of time.
By the way, Domitian's Minerva denarii are not boring at all.

Nice recent additions Orfew! I'm sorry to admit it, but the many variants of the Domitian Minerva coins don't really do it for me and I'm in the 'one or two is enough-group'... :) Though this type is quite interesting and appealing!
And since you asked, and together with your request in your post about your other, new Domitan(vs) denarius, I'll toss in this one: it has wings and is my favorite Domitian coin!

Nice @Orfew , not the “typical” Minerva.
