Does this look mint? Or? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/4029/dsc00272ab7.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/7129/dsc00273xh8.jpg Thats out of a set of morgans I inherited. I do not know if their circulated or what. ANy help would be nice! Thanks!
I agree with GDJMSP pretty hard to tell from the pics but it does look like its circulated. Then again many of the 1921's have weak strikes. And whats that over the R in AMERICA maybe a big old die chip? Actually is that a 1921D VAM-1B1 Which is the "Capped R" which is a die break. If it is it's in the Hot 50.
Yeah the R does have a chip off of it and there is a crack down under the head. Let me get some more images of the other coins up real quick.
1901 Morgan http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/1706/dsc00277cz1.jpg http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/1338/dsc00276rj3.jpg (Internet is really slow tonight, their doing upgrades so ill upload the other images later.. stinkin ISP.)
So how much do you guys think that I could sell that chipped R coin for? How much should I ask for it? Just curious.
I'm still not sure of a grade from the pics. I checked online, and could only find 1 at the moment. eBay.com.my: 1921 D BU MORGAN DOLLAR VAM 1B HOT 50 CAPPED R EYE APL (item 360042567996 end time Mar 09, 2009 10:05:28 MYT) Now that's for an Uncirculated one, without knowing the grade I couldn't give a price.
I don't think we can answer that question without better pics of the coin. The value is completely dependent on the grade.
