If you go on ebay and go to United States notes, you will find a lot of other notes that are not US notes. I think they think it means it was made in the United States. It amazing how many people that sell on Ebay don't know what they are selling. I see it all the time in the Lionel Trains catagory. I aslo collect and sell trains on Ebay.
That just may create opportunities for those that do know. Suppose a seller is selling a valuable note from another country but he lists it under US Notes. Buyers searching for the note in the area for that country's notes may never find it and buyers of US notes browsing the offerings in US Notes may not recognize it as a bargain. If you know it is valuable but the bid is low because it is listed in the wrong area then you stand to get it for a song. (You may go to Hell for doing so according to what others have said on another thread but I could sleep at night cherrypicking something like this.)
folks on ebay can have items listed on more then 1 category. so the sellers of world notes might just have the notes listed in their country as well, or in the world note category, and at the same time in the US notes category .. just to get the added exposure.
What Hobo said and I must be going to Hell. Of course I would only cherrypick like that to save someone else's soul.
It happens alot on eBay; heck, you should go to eBay Motors. You'd be surprised how many car parts can fit both Domestic and Imports. And i'm not talking about the basics.
