Received this upgrade a while ago. I am not sure the pictures do it justice. So what do you think it was graded?
Did you click on the pictures - they should expand. Yes the pictures are dark - for some reason the NGC holder would not cooperate. It wanted to reflect the light. The lower half of the reverse is darker than the rest of the coin. Maybe I can get better pictures in the light tomorrow.
I did get a better picture of the reverse, but heck everybody is pretty close to the grade. The pictures do not do it justice, but it is listed as RB. I think it is correct because the bow on the reverse is much browner that the rest of the coin. I love how clean the fields are on this coin and it is a deep strike except for first feather.
Very gorgeous Indian, these are very nice in higher grade. I'm gonna bite the bullet, and say there is a lot of shadow from the angle the pics were taken, and say it was graded MS-66 RB. Very nice Indian. :thumb: Phoenix
63RB? It may just be the pics, but I can't see any feather detail on the tips of the three leading head dress feathers. Probably just glare from the plastic. Nice coin. Guy~
There are more details in the feathers, but you need to work to see them. When viewing this coin I found only one problem that I though might knock it down from the 65, that was a tick mark on the E in cent. And for those of you have interest - here is the auction. Even their pictures do not show the detail on the feathers. I bought the coin because I liked how clean the fields are and nice the color is. I think this coin would have been red, except for brown mixed into the lower half of the reverse. You can see where the seller changed the lighting on the reverse. Overall I am pleased with the coin.
Looks like a good grade seeing the images again. 65 sounds about right. Thought it was RB because of the obverse, which looks pretty darn close to RD. Hearing you say the reverse has BN on it (the first set of photos fooled me), I can see the RB grade. Looks like a nice coin. Congrats...mike
