a little beat up

    any input? on the reverse yo can almost make out a wheat ear on one side.

    Worn out, beat up, scooped out, dished out, ground out.

    It really cannot happen during normal minting practices - if the Rev. die was removed the Obv. would also look much different has it would not have had the "anvil" to strike against.
    Some kid wore it out with sandpaper back in 1925.

    No that would be very unlikely, why

    No that would be very unlikely, why, because if that obvious an error it would have been spotted and set aside long ago.

    Remember to Think-Think-Think until you know the possibility of could it be? Should it be? Might it be? then for the truth about this piece, not very likely plus in that state now impossible to really tell so it's a mute point - time to move on to the next coin.
