A little advice needed on a 1920 Pilgrim Half Dollar

This might be my first noob mistake.
When I saw the 1920 Pilgrim Half Dollar design I simply loved it. I wanted to add one to my collection but was uncertain on grading one due to the fact I never held one. So of course I went on ebay and looked around. Not wanting to sound like someone who only cares about the grade I went ahead and bought a slabbed one just in case it was cleaned or altered. To make a long story short I purchased a MS62 graded by ANACS in an old holder (don't know if it makes a difference) for $95. I felt I may have overpaid in my haste and am now thinking about returning it and getting either one in higher grade for either the same price or a bit more. Or getting a raw one for half the price, any suggestions?

Sounds like a good price for the grade. I've been shopping the same coin at several dealers here in town, only they're raw and go for $100-135. So the fact that you obtained one slabbed will help put anybody at ease in terms of: Has it been cleaned? and so on. I would say nice buy.

Seems like a nice coin, toning's a little dark but it's an attractive design throughout. It's no wonder why it's a popular choice among early commem collectors.

Can't really tell much because of the small pics but I don't see the reason for the 62. It has a good strike and not unattractive toning. I don't think you did bad at all paying what you did for it. Post some bigger pics when you get it.

Looks nice. I've always loved the high relief aspect of that coin's reverse. I think I have two in my collection.

I think that's a fair price. You'd probably be looking a long time before you found a dealer selling one for much below that. I bought a blast white, PCGS MS-64 for my Intercept album (US type set). I cracked it out for it and saved the label. I purchased it at a show a couple years ago for $140. They're an awesome coin. If more people knew about them, I think more people would want them. But there isn't much advertising for them any more. lol Which is good for us buyers. No reason to want to pay more for one. We're fortunate they're this cheap IMO. Good pick up.

There is a scratch on the obverse. But other than that I don't see anything wrong with it.
