I'm not a coin collector, just selling everything I own to move, but got interested in it a little.I have a lot of wheat pennies. Why does this A. Lincoln look like he has an earring and mole? Lol. It's hard to see it in pics, my phone takes awful pics. It's more defined in real. You can't see the mole here either. His earring sticks out. Anyone know anything about it? Its been in this wrapping since I was little.
Can you please take the coin out of the holder very carefully? Try taking a Picture like this of both sides.
Judging from the little I can make out on the reverse is that coin has been subjected to some corrosion from somewhere. The old water stains on the old 2X2 tell the story... And that's too bad. That was a nice wheatie.
It looks corroded to me also, Verdigris can be removed but it takes years to learn how to do it correctly. And even then, you can still tell that it was removed.
It's not anything special BTW, It you have any questions on any future coins. Try the Errors Coins forum. Not the What's it Worth forum. Most issues you will find in circulation are just damage. And there are very few minor true errors and varieties that have very little or no premium at all. Educating yourself is more important than thinking you found something worth a lot of money
