It's a 1949 Roosevelt Dime. My photos just can't capture the true beauty in this coin.

The obverse has a nice toning of light browns, yellows, pinks and reds. Very hard to get on the pics. The reverse has a spotted molting but it's all toning even though it doesn't look like it. The coin is not pitted at all.

This fine was in a bag of $25.00 face value junk silver that I purchased in 2012 and just opened last week. It was the only toned coin. The other 3 bags had done interesting coins in them, especially for junk silver.

I'm not a fan of toning, especially mottled toning, but still a nice example for a coin that old.

I'm with you on toning. The obverse is beautiful but I'm considering using a fast light dipping with a q-tip on the reverse.
