I would have to study mine at home first to have an opinion. I have not seen them worn before. My first thougth would be the shen is a little off, and I am just a little concerned about the quality. Japanese cast coins are usually of superior quality, and I see some defects in the casting of this piece. I am just not sure if its the wear or what.

My vote as of now would to be careful. Where did you acquire the piece?

I had initially assumed that this was a temp tsuho piece - but the legends obviously don't match. If I had read the TITLE of the thread, I would never have assumed that! It is actually an amulet that reads "Man Nen Tsu Ho / To Hyaku" (The currency of 10,000 years / Value 100). The original, according to Hartill 7.40, was cast circa AD 1860 and is quite rare. The unusual surfaces and poor calligraphy indicate that this is most likely a reproduction
