I really like Japanese 50 sen coins for some reason.
There is a wartime gap from Showa 13 (1938) when the last few silver ones were minted and Showa 21 when the brass 50 sen was introduced.
Anyway, I was happy to come across a wartime 50 sen bill from that gap period:
Japan 50 sen Showa 18 (1943) I think it was $3, so not too pricey.

And here are some coins from the other sides of the gap for comparison:
    L to R: Meiji 40, Taisho 12, Showa 21, Showa 23

とても好きだ!I also like 50 Sen coins - as well as most Japanese coins - and I also have one of the same 50 Sen paper notes, but it's a 昭和十九年, or one year after yours. ありんがとうございます for sharing!
