I have seen a fair number of these presidential dollar coins and own several, i have a pair of philly and denver coins in ngc holders, with extremely polished finishes and are far more pale in color than the normal coins . i cant find a reason for this so i am asking. I did my best to show the color and surface differances in my photos . i have added in a regular denver for contrast . although i could add more if requested. They always stand out like some sort of speciman proof coins. Moving lights. Adding and taking light away and setting them at differant angles and positions . So I am sure they are some sort of differant strike or maybe presentation coins. They are not graded .just authenticated,"bu first day of issue." I have some working knowledge of machines and surface treatments, conversions , platings, browning, blueing and parkerizing/zinc-phosphate coatings. Zinc electroplating steel =Galvanizing and how to do so. How to polish and clean and pickle metals... So im not just going on my "feelings" here ,lol. I know people just want to be lazy and not find thsir own answers, I looked at error.ref and several presdollar sights , usa coin book, pchs and ngc, stacks and bowers , great collections, and several others .
