A good read

What is the best book in your opinion if I wanted to get educated on hard times and civil war tokens. I'm not looking to become an expert, but would like to get an example or two of these interesting pieces for my collection, and would like to be an informed purchaser....plus they just seem so cool. Thanks much.

Thanks, some good stuff. Is Bowers red books on these subjects a great resource, or is there better. I see several other options out there, and was wondering which ya'll believe is best. I usually read myself to sleep, so a physical copy is better for that.
