It seems that people regularly ask about where a good place to buy coins on line is, I would like to give a recommendation for Northeast Numismatics
    http://www.northeastcoin.com/

I have made a bunch of purchases from them.

    IMO:
They have the best web site for a coin dealer I have ever seen
They have GREAT pictures of the coins!
They allow for making offers/counter offers on coins
Excellent customer service, very nice people and very responsive.

They tend to have the coins priced above greysheet, but for good reason. They sell a lot of PQ and wonderfully toned coins. I have always viewed the greysheet as more of a guide anyway ;)

They also offer an evaluation period once you get the coin, so if you buy it and it does not strike your fancy send it back...

oh, and my avatar came from them ;)

With those prices, I thought I was looking at Littleton's website. Whew!
    Thanks anyway.

all i can say is you get what you pay for... most of the time ;)
Northeast has some of the best quality stuff, especially if toning is your thing.
Itsd unfair to compare them to littleton, littleton sells AU and pretty plain coins for a lot more then they are worth, northeast prices fairly for the quality of the coin.

oh, and they also don;t just start sending you coins out of the blue and charging you for them ;)

    here is a good example:
Littleton has a pretty plain 1935-S san diego commem in PCGS MS64 for sale for $215.00
    Grey sheet is $121
northeast has a nice one in PCGS MS65 for $165, not only that but its in an older PCGS holder and has a great strke (no weakness in the breastplate area) and nice even toning...
    greysheet is $150

so littleton is selling a coin for almost twice what its market value is, and northeast has a very small markup for a PQ coin for the grade.
I wouldn;t think that comparing the two companies is fair.

This question comes up almost as much as how to clean a coin.
I like Millersmint. Fantastic quantity of inventory, decent prices, fast service. Upon request they will send you a catalog. I jsut got mine and it was 28 pages long.
I've also dealt with VTcoins but hate his web site due to the constant SOLD thing in almost everything I want. JMScoins isn't bad but to specialized. I just noticed that the one dealer I mostly use lately does not havea a web site on his business card. He is at all the coin shows I go to and that is about 3 times a Month.
Not long ago I saw a similar post somewhere that ended up with a list of numerous dealers.
Possibly a great idea for a standard post here somewhere. Maybe a list of dealers with forum member rating. Example would be Littleton with a rating of -397
