Just received this one today, ex. Pars Coins #24.

    RIC VII Constantinople 21

Opening bid was $150, and I paid $155 for it. Not much demand for coins like this, apparently! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Nice addition!...& excellent video!

Many, many years ago, I used to sell "collectibles" & unique items on ebay (not coins) & in those days I would sometimes have to list 2 or 3 times until an interested party bid (& then sometimes multiple bids). You never know, & especially with coins.;)

    Very nice!
I was the high and only bidder on this camp gate on Tuesdays G&M auction:

Not as nice as yours, but still nice. It happens to be the same Sear RCV number as this coin, but they look completely different. First and third officinae, I guess.

Really, can you ever go wrong with a camp gate? They're like Lays potato chips! :D

Victor_Clark all my best friends are dead Romans Dealer

They are different issues...the first is a laureate head only and the second is diademed, draped and cuirassed bust.

Yes. And I think this is an example where Sear falls short, because he lists them both as #16253.

Like Victor said in a previous thread: «I don’t collect camp gates, but they happen.»

That's a beauty, for sure! One of the great things about Constantinian camp gates is that you can get really nice ones for not much money.

This one cost me all of 11 bucks:

    25 bucks:

I paid a lot more for this one (80 bucks) because it's a scarce 1st issue from the Constantinople mint:

It's nicer in hand than the photo.

That's a real beauty - fresh as the day it was struck.
