A few uncertain coins

    Here are some coins from my collection that defy identification. Enough detail to where you would think they could be. I'm hoping to stir up some new discussion as most of these were posted on FORVM with no luck.

    Obv: Athena in crested helmet r.
    Rev: Forepart of facing humped bull r.
    17mm, 4.0g.

    I can't even guess, but will be very impressed if someone can ID thse babies. They are all interesting however.

    Number 2 looks like Julia Domna.

    maybe the first one is from Sidon they used a bull charging...but I can also be mistaken..

    Thanks Bing, I'm thinking these may be unidentified for a while...

    Pishpash: I agree, looks like Domna but inscription doesn't seem to match.

    Cyrrhus: Sidon has the Europa on charging bull type. I have not seen the forepart type yet.

    WOW, those are eerily familiar but I can't imagine why.....although I suppose because they seem to resemble prutahs and others of that kind of manufacture with their crude devices and low grade metals....

    Pish and Cyrrhus seem to be on the right track and the third has a reverse of...??? a griffith???

    I suspect you're right @ancientone and they will be unidentified for a while longer.
