Aloha, I have a thread here of a few of my prized coins in my collection. They aren't the best and rarest around but they are nice.
    1900 Half Eagle Gold $5
    1914-D Lincoln cent VG-10
    1931-S Lincoln cent AU-55
    More to come soon.....anyways, enjoy!

Hope you like them. I've invested about $550 for everything right here, got the '14-D pretty cheap too.

Very nice! I like them, esp. the gold $5!

The most important thing in collecting is that you are happy with them. :smile

I am really happy that I have them. Still need that expensive 09-S VDB...

Thanks Leadfoot. I picked that thing up for $150, VG-10 details. It has a scratch on the reverse though. I may upgrade in the future to a F-12.

I realize I am only seeing one side of that coin, but I think you need to re-evaluate your grade. I would not be shocked if that coin would be VF. Just as an example, see http://www.cointalk.com/t130777/. 14-D's are not exactly noted for being well struck.

Wow...your '14-D looks alot like mine Rlm. To be honest, I bought it in a slab from ANACS which was graded VG-10 details, I can post a pic of the scratch but it may not turn out real well. The slab was damaged and old so I had no choice but to take it out.

If it is truly an old slab, they did not details grade, they net graded. I have one of their old small slabbed 14-D's. It is at least a 30 (I think 35), but it has been cleaned. ANACS calls it F-12.

You said "old" slab. Yellow slabs came out about the middle of 2009. They (and the blue slabs 2006) both detail grade. When you said "old", I am thinking the small slabs. The old ones of those were net graded and the later were details graded. Regardless, that looks better than VG10 to me, but I need to see the reverse before I can tell for sure.

Thanks Duke. And Rlm, I can't get a good shot of the reverse. There's a scratch and I can't get it on cam and its all blurry. As I've said before, I take a picture straight on from a camera. Maybe I should look into something better for photoing stuff up close or something.

I'm pretty sure he was just telling you that you should be proud of them, not an accusation.
