Here are a few of newer acquisitions, some Greek/Hellenistic coins. :smile Athens tetradrachm, c. 431 BC. 24mm 17.12gr Sicily, Agathokles Litra AE24, Period 4, circa 295 BC. SWTEIRA, head of Artemis right, in triple-pendant earring & necklace, quiver over shoulder. Reverse, Winged thunderbolt, AGAQOKLEOS above, BASILEOS below 9.58 gr Ariarathes IV, Eusebes, AR Drachm, Cappadocia, 220-163 BC. Diademed head right / BASILEWS ARIARAQOU EUSEBOUS, Athena standing left, holding Nike in right hand, spear and shield in left; monograms in fields, ᴦA in exergue 3.93 grs. Thrace, Apollonia Pontika drachm 5-4th C. BC., 17mm, 2.75gr, Obv. Gorgoneion with tongue protruding, Rev. Anchor; A in left field, crayfish in right field. Menander. Circa 155-130 BC. AR Drachm. All beautiful coins, especially the owl of course. Though I like the Sicily, Agathokles best, its got a wonderful patina.

Thanks for posting. My favorite I think is the Menander from Taxila. I am collecting the area, and have other coins from Taxila but no Indo-Greek from there yet. I think the entire area is passed over by most numismatists, and it has a terrific history.
I really like the Athens one! It is just amazing how they were able to apply so many details back then!
