Hi all, not the best day hunting today but managed to find a few I liked. Can anyone tell me what I could do with the wheat penny to get rid of whatever it might of been dipped in? Many thanks in advance Today’s finds by Darren Edwards posted Aug 25, 2021 at 4:56 PM Today’s finds by Darren Edwards posted Aug 25, 2021 at 4:56 PM
Thanks for the reply, I thought as much, I have a few of them anyway so will throw this one back into the wild and hope for better pennies in my next trip to the bank
The 1957 cent is, as mentioned, not worth the hassle. Leave it the way it is. It got chromed or plated in something. This was popular with 1950s charm bracelets. One often sees coins of that era silver plated, sometimes with a little loop brazed on. Somebody will get a kick out of it if you release it back into the wild, and then, a year or two down the road, we might be seeing it here on CoinTalk again. LOL
