The NGC Registry Type Set through 1964 contains 10 silver dollar types.
I have 6 of them, missing the four earliest issues (no surprise there).

While putting these images together I discovered something I hadn't known.
For 4 years (1874-1877) the only silver dollars struck in the US were Trade Dollars.
I had always assumed that Seated Liberty Dollars were also struck at the same time, Trade for foreign use, Seated Liberty for internal US use.
Then the Morgans picked up in 1878 for internal US use.

    Learning continues.

    Here are my six:

Kanga - you have quite a collection that must have taken many years to build. Thanks for sharing it with us. I have a seated liberty dollar no motto that I like very much. While I know you have collected many representative examples of dollars, do you have a personal preference among them?

Among the dollar coins I have, the answer is "No".
After thinking about it I have decided a large part of that answer comes from getting into the collecting part so deeply that I haven't taken the time to sit back and enjoy what I've got.
I guess I should take the time to "smell the roses".

Ah, I understand! I find that since I don't have lots of cash to acquire a lot (or choose to buy quality over quantity), when I do buy something I think I appreciate it more because the acquisitions are fewer. I find it really hard to go months without buying a coin.

That's a very nice set of dollars, it takes a while to put a series like that together. Now, you really do need to get that Bust dollar!

Beautiful Kanga, and attractive Seated Dollars! The seated dollars are still 2 of the 3 coins I'm missing in my 7070. They are very difficult to find in attractive condition, even in the higher grades.

More nice coins. I like the 1846 the best. And I agree that is one nice collection you have.
