One more before I take a couple weeks off. Back a year or so I had just learned about this coin. I don't often collect varieties but it caught my interest. No sooner had found out about it than I was at a show and there it was. I immediately snapped it up. As soon as I got it I turned around and walked no more than 20-30 feet and spotted another. Same grade but probably a bit better. For $100 less! LESSONS LEARNED: 1. Know the value of what you are shopping for. 2. Don't get caught up in the excitement. Shop around. If you miss it, another will come along.
This thread like the others I've recently made are as much for trying to show people what sort of mistakes can be made as for showing off some of my better items. If they prevent others from making the same error then they're worth it. There's the old saying, "History repeats itself which is one of the things wrong with history."
