Got a couple of rolls from the bank and found five shield pennies and these. One is a deep red. I know it dosent look like it, but trust me its blood red. This second the rim seems to be fine untill you get it around 3o'clock up till 6 o'clock. Then it goes away. I know you want to say its worm or PMD, but it looks like the punch was a little off center. its a 2001 p so the die should be fine. Anybody help me? Thanks RB13

Not really..... if it was far enough off to the side where the details on the coin were affected then it would have a bit of a premium but this one is very minor.
The shield cents aren't worth hanging onto either. I have been getting many more unopened new rolls of these than I want. There minting a bazillion of those. I think about 300 or so for every person in the US ? gary
