I found these while working my job as a teller. What do you guys think? The 1950 is in great conditions, and while it has some light creasing, there is a minimum of dirt and a good deal of crispness left. Any opinions on value?
I am glad you are NOT my teller, she saves those types of goodies for moi, but coingratulations on the finds all the same.
Haha, yes sir, I feel sorry for any collector expecting to get lucky from currency or coin that I give back to them, although many times I'm too rushed to go through everything as thoroughly as I would like. I once had a gentleman bring in a bunch of rolls of coin and exchange them for cash. After glancing at them I recognized them as rolls that I had searched and turned in to another branch of my bank two days prior. Felt kind of bad that the guy got all of my rolls that had already been cleaned out.
I feel the same way...pretty much anything collectible that comes into the bank I work at goes past me first. All the other tellers know I'm a collector and if they see something interesting, they give me first dibs on it. I have somewhat of a corner on the market. :kewl: Nice finds by the way.
Why ever spend them? they are no longer made, they are no longer released by the feds if they catch em - they get shredded. So the only thing note like that can do is gain in value. keep em!
So, therefore...by saving them ourselves, we should be encouraging others to spend them so more get back to the feds and end up shredded.
i prefer to think of it as an open door policy... meaning send them all to me, you get to spend them, i keep them.. in the end i am rich .. i like this game
