I just got my first 500 dollars of one dollar bills today and found a couple fun finds. To me anyway. Finding fancy serial numbers (even if these arent fancy) is starting to become a hobby and a fun one.
My thought "close, but no cigar" It would drive me crazy knowing that they were almost fancy serial numbers.. I spend them right away!
Question.. Do you also look for Mismatched serial numbers? Such as - (not my dollar) these have a good premium And Bookends - (not my dollar) One more - Flipper Serial numbers! (not my dollar)
Did you know that your 63-999339 note is only 661 away from the top note of 64-000000? It is fun to learn about US money...
Lol, they will probably go in my rainy day collection. Yeah I watch for mismatch serial numbers and prefixes and I thought bookends weren't fancy enough to keep?
You have to think of it as either a hit or miss. Don't view the misses as close or way off. Sort of like being in a lotto/raffle. If your number is 14 (for example) then 15 would be the same as 35, as far as a result. They are both misses and therefore equal. You either hit or miss. That's it.
Not really. Unless the middle four are interesting. If the center four create a mini radar, repeater or solid then I can maybe see some collectors finding it worthy of paying a premium. Otherwise it's a miss.
I have a friend that is saving notes by sheet numbers. He only wants the lowest and highest 1000 notes. So I pull them for him during each search. Any note can give you its sheet number by using even and odd for the 6th position from the right. Even equals 200,000 and odd = 199, 999. Serial 63 999339 = sheet #199,339, 63,899,339 would be sheet #099,339 (and not saved)63, 799,339 = another sheet #199,339 (saved), etc thru 63,000,339 would be sheet #339. Fun facts...
One time I was one digit away from an $18,000 lottery win. As it was, my 35 instead of winning #36 netted me only $72. Oh well.
