Good morning all I found an ok example of “ IN GOD WE RUST “ yesterday and also a possible die chip on the Wisconsin quarter on the right had side under the leaf, not sure if it is until I put it under the scope later today, any comments on what it could be if you can see it from my pictures are welcomed Quarter finds by Darren Edwards posted Aug 27, 2021 at 8:28 AM Quarter finds by Darren Edwards posted Aug 27, 2021 at 8:28 AM Quarter finds by Darren Edwards posted Aug 27, 2021 at 8:28 AM Quarter finds by Darren Edwards posted Aug 27, 2021 at 8:28 AM Quarter finds by Darren Edwards posted Aug 27, 2021 at 8:28 AM
Die chips are common. Due to die deterioration. The RUST is a deterioration issue also. Nothing major.
Oh I know these have no value I just wanted to know if I was right regarding the die chip? ( I’m still learning ) And the in god we rust ones I have a couple of now and just like to save them ( for no other reason than they are different ) Thank you for the reply
In most cases, the missing T in TRUST is due to a grease filled letter in the die and some individuals collect those and will pay a modest price above face value, but otherwise, those and small die chips have NAV, no added value, to most collectors. Fun to keep as examples. Good luck on your search and finds.
Thanks all for the replies. The hunt really is fun and the value side of things doesn’t really interest me ( unless I ever found anything worth a fortune lol ) I’m going to keep on searching, I’ve just found some strange nickels quarters and dimes so will be posting on a separate thread shortly
