A Civil War "Copperhead" stick pin

    I remember hearing a "Copperhead" described as the head cut out from a "copper penny" during one the chapters in the award winning Ken Burns documentary on the Civil War. Here is an example. I don't have any reason to doubt that this is genuine.

    The source coin was a large cent from the circa 1920 era.

    Here's another although it no longer has its pin.
