Guess it's time for another Bonedigger contest. The prize will be a counterfeit Chinese 1896-S Morgan Dollar. The question and tie-breakers are as follows. (From the book, "When the Mississippi Ran Backwards") When the famous New Madrid Earthquake struck transport up and down the Mississippi River was by SteamBoat and raft. What did a cord 4'x4'8' of firewood cost during this period. The SteamBoats used it for fuel in their boilers. The tie-breaker questions are these... How many antler points (eastern count) did the first deer I shot have and what caliber or gauge of gun did I use? One guess per member and no going back and editing your answer. The contest winner will be determined on 17 November, 2007. Good Luck Ben
Simple realy 1. More than before the earthquake but less than it would now LOL 2; it didnt have anything much of anything 3. A Howitzer (only a small 12lb mountain one ) Hence the total lack of antlers and deer parts :goofer:
I'm not getting in the contest but I'll guess that your first buck was a 6 pointer, and it was with a .243 Speedy
Question from someone who never hunted anything bigger than a rabbit - What do you mean I mean, are there really multiple ways you can count the number of pointy ends on a set of antlers?
Every antler point on which you can hang a finger ring on. If a buck has 2 points on one side and three on the other side then it's a 5 Pointer.
