I got a good digital camera and made a better picture of my two-faced dime. I still have not heard an estimate as to the value of this freek dime!
Interesting coin, but it raises alot of questions.First,is the reverse totally normal? The obverse does not look like a proper double strike, but more likely struck through a piece that may have been a die cap or something. This again, isn't a "normal"error, but more exotic in nature. I would highly recommend having this certified by a major grading service. This will ensure that the coin in question wasn't manufactured after Minting(doesn't look fake)and bring you the maximum amount upon resale. As is,I think this Dime should bring a minimum of $30.00 on ebay and maybe more if buyers get into it.Did you find this coin or purchase it? pretty cool looking error anyway, good luck with it.(nicely done photo too) ~ Jim
Response to LAZ The back is totally normal. The coin was given to me in change at a convience store in 2000. I've kept it in my safe since. When I first discovered it I had a coin shop look at it and he offered me ten dollars on the spot.(laugh) He suggested I send it away to some specialist in Colorado.(laugh) I found that dealer to be ammusing. I am not hard up for $$ and am very successful in the building industry, and like the idea of having this strange coin rather than the cash it's value might generate. I like believing I have a "one of a kind". We all know what value is when something is truely "one of a kind". It does appear to me to be a genuine flawed coin. Thank you LAZ for the time and opinion you have given on my "Double faced dime." Regards, Rvance
hello. I am shocked that in 5 years that you've only had one reply. Your coin is a magicians coin and not an error. Sorry about that. Not worth much but it is interesting. Thanks. Enjoy the forums and welcome!
Isaiah, he hasn't been here for four years so he probably doesn't care that he hasn't gotten any more answers. Second you are identifying his "error" without the benefit of seeing the picture which Laz apparently did. (OP apparently had a photo which is no longer available.) And from Laz's comments I would suspect the coin may be a struck through mid stage die cap not a magicians coin.
