A 2005 Oregon quarter without copper in the edge...is it real?

My wife works as a bank teller and brought home a 2005 Oregon quarter that has a completely silver edge. Everything else about it seems to be exactly like another Oregon quarter that we compared it too.

I am not a collector so I may be making a fool of myself on here. However, has anyone ever seen this? Do people actually waste time making counterfeit quarters?

yeah with out a pic we can only guess, maybe a platinum plater state quarter from a qvc set, or (and hopefully not) maybe it was dipped in mercury

    welcome to cointalk

Or it's just a silver proof. Thats my guess as they're common enough.

#3: Most likely plated. Is there a mint mark? Or does the surface look very shiny?

    2005 All Silver Oregon Quarter

I was at a coinstar depositing hundreds of dollars in quarters, and this one quarter in particular kept getting kicked out and would not get accepted. I does not have the copper around the edge, it feels different and sounds different. Anyone know what it could be?

Well maybe yours is from a silver proof set. They were 90% silver.

Does it have a date on it? How about a mint mark?

    welcome to the forum.

And it would really help if you could post a picture.

Also, look for a mintmark on the obverse (heads) side.
    It should be a P, a D or an S.
    That would help.
