First, welcome to the neighborhood! I may be wrong, but is *what is value* the username that you really want to use for the rest of your life on CT? If not, you might want to contact @Peter T Davis or @GDJMSP to see if there is a possibility of changing it to something more appropriate.

Your photo of the quarter leaves a lot to be desired. You need to lay it on a flat surface and use better lighting to illuminate it. If you are using a regular camera, you need to stabilize your image by using a copy stand or tripod. ~ Chris

It's called environmental damage and only worth face value.

Without better photos, it is nearly impossible to tell what you have, but most likely it is just environmental damage. @paddyman98 has posted tons of photos of similar coins that he has found while metal detecting so you may wish to do a search and take a look. Compare your coin to his photos.

    There isn't.

Doesn't matter, "strange" or not, answer stays the same.

Well, it never hurts to ask! Would you like to buy a bridge over the Himalayas?

Ya know, it just so happens I've always wanted one of those. AND - seeing as how you're here in FL, and I am, there's this ski resort I own down here that's on the market. How about we arrange a swap ;)

I don't ski, so I wouldn't be interested. How about swapping my bridge for an old military installation.......Ft. Knox?:):):):):)
