A 1934 Woodie

I don’t collect these but this was in my LCS’s close out bin for $1.00. Since I didn’t have one and it looked nice I said no problem. A common date with over 200,000,000 minted but they aren’t all woodies.

I like woodgrains. I saved everyone I saw as a youngster. I didn't know at the time what they were, they just looked different and got put away. I really didn't learn the term until I joined CT a few years ago.

 

I should be the last one to complain about photos as I can't take a good one to save my life, but the lighting needs to be adjusted so we can appreciate the beauty. Nice find.

 

I took the photo directly under an overhead light. Best I could do and the plastic doesn’t help either but you can see more on the reverse than the obverse but it’s clearly on both sides of this coin.

 

Who is "we"?

 

And comparing them to what?
