96 cent check mint mark

    That's not a very good example to be trying to attribute. It is corroded, damaged and has plating blisters. Find the coins that are new. Not saying throw out the ones you think are interesting. But look at those shiny new coins and try to find the best examples of the type. Understand what a newly minted coin looks like. Then go back to your interesting finds and try to figure out what is worth keeping. I guarantee that you will come up with a better assessment of the coin.

    It's a normal Philadelphia (no mint mark) minted Copper Plated Cent with a lot of damage.
