92 Lincoln cent

    I took a photo of this 92 Lincoln because I liked the toning on the reverse and I was going to post it on Phoenix21s thread "Post some Lincolns". After taking the picture I noticed the (CUDS?) above the US of A. I then scanned it to see if I could see them better. My question is about the items circled in red. The yellow circle is a die crack.

    The Obverse is unremarkable for the year.

    Here are the two images. Is that what I'm looking at? CUDS

    The one on the 'C' looks like a die chip, the others look like die deterioration.

    It's a die break in yellow and plating split doubling in the others. Very common on the copper plated zinc cents and often mistaken for RPM's.
