This is an 86 Morgan that I got at a show over the weekend. I graded it at around UNC to BU. Can someone give me their best estimate as to the grade and value?
This coin is hard to grade from these pics. The 1886 Morgan is typically well struck but sometimes does display some weakness. On this coin, I see a touch of weakness above the ear. It looks to me like that area has a luster break indicating some wear. Based on that, I would say the coin is AU. It is nice and clean and has great fields so I would call it AU55. Now, in hand this coin could be MS. Again, hard to tell with the pics. If in hand, the coin is rotated in the light and it is determined that there is no luster break above the ear, I would call this coin MS64. It is very clean but does have a few hits on the cheek and a couple in the fields to stop the grade from going any higher.
