I noticed the reverse of this penny, and haven't seen another, since, that has each (or any) letter in the words, "ONE CENT," touching the coin's outer rim as on this one. Is it another form of die fatigue, or is there a different explanation? These letters aren't filled in, as those on the nickel I posted last night are, so I won't trust my own guesswork.

I've seen quite a few of these. Die erosion, I think.

Too bad it has a "D" on it and only one ear ;)

Die erosion and die fatigue are pretty much just differences in semantics, aren't they? Agreed...would be nice w/o the "D" and with the doubled ear. :)
