Hey folks, as I'm sure you've all heard before, I'm new to the coin hobby. lol I don't spend mt change, it all goes into containers when I get home. Today. i decided to start going through them and one of the quarters i set aside has this weird surface finish. It looks like the metal is all wrinkled. You can also feel the textures. It's a perfect circle, and the diameter is from the base of the collar, to the top of the head. There is no damage to any of the other coins features so i don't think it's been squished. I've searched the net, and this forum for a similar condition but couldn't find any thing similar. So, I thought I'd buckle down and just ask. Anyone ever see something like this?
Great picture.....of your thumb. Put the coin down on a flat surface. Take the picture directly over the coin, just like you did with your thumb. Don't worry, it just takes a little practice. There's going to be a test. Something like this:
Your coin was struck by worn dies. The radiating flow lines are a characteristic. Sorry, but it has no additional value.
