Here’s an 1880-S I imaged this month in an NGC MS64PL slab for a frame of reference.

 

I believe I initially said 66 on this one - but with these new pictures, I like 65 better. Absolutely no way that thing should be a 64.

And those are very strong PL fields. There's a really good chance they're even DPL.

PCGS got this one wrong, plain and simple.

 

Clearly a 65 pl. I stand by my original grade

I’m at 65PL in hand as well. I don’t think the NGC coin is particularly strong for the grade but the above coin just blows it out of the water.

 

As I said before, you found a diamond, my dude. Congratulations on a fantastic pickup. So does this count as a cherrypick?

 

Getting a 65PL for 64 money since the TV’s looked undergraded counts... in my world at least.

 

I agree that it would get PL. I'm okay with the 64 though.

 

That's a mighty fine coin you got there.

Can you explain why you aren't "crazy" about this one?

 

Think the lettering Isn't so great. I'm really weak on morgans. Mostly no idea on how to grade these. Hope that helps

 

Is your boyfriend's name Chong? That could explain a lot.......
