I noticed this while looking for pennies for Ivan (requested in another part of this forum). Based on what I've learned, it looked like something might've happened at the mint, albeit nothing valuable.

With the naked eye, the indentations at approximately 2:00 and 8:00, when viewing the obverse, looked more identical than in the enlarged image.

Looks like the edge of the coin has been dented - damage.

I'll agree, more of a dent than a clip.

Obviously, I haven't learned anything of significance! :p

It's lucky I consider myself more a collector of damaged coins. I have accumulated complete sets in folders covering the past nearly 50 yrs. of pennies/nickels and the past 40 yrs. of dimes/quarters. Would be hard to call oneself a collector of errors with two clipped coins, one of which is damaged! :D

    Thanks much.
