This was the top coin from a unopened 10$ roll from an estate sale. Nice toning imo. What condition would you guys say this coin is in? Wish I had some better pics in natural light these ones don't do the toning justice oh well. Lmk y'all!
By the way I bought the roll from a reputable coin dealer/ jewelry store near my area. I was assured the the toning was absolutely without a doubt natural. If you guys see any concerns please let me know. I've been collecting for almost 2 years but since I'm young and have just started messing around with toned coins I know mainly what to look for but many people try to get over on me considering my age
This one is good: View attachment 568864 . The others are all blurry. I'll take it as MS from the reverse, as the toning on the obverse is obscuring the detail. The spotting hurts it the most, in my opinion. Together with the cut on the cheek, the cuts on the shield, and in the tail feathers, I'll give it MS63 on a good day. The toning is OK. This is grading for the market, these days, remember, so a real fan of the toning might kick it a grade for it.
Its all the same coin. If he likes the coin that is all that matters. When I go for a toned coin I make sure the toning looks pleasant in room lighting where I will enjoy it. Extra lighting should add to the beauty, not create it. Take a photo and have the lighting mimic room lights. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
I'm sure no one took a hammer to the coin bud. Considering how long it could have traveled rolled up until I bought the roll the obverse of the coin would have the most damage to it. If your trolling it's not funny and your not to good at it.
I bought a whole roll of kennedys and that was the first and only one toned. No reverse toning I'll post a pic in natural light. Btw thanks dysfunctionalvet. Ya know idk how long the guy before me has been in this hobby or business whichever one applies to him but the humor is dry.
