64 cent different color obverse

    Can someone please tell me why there are two different colors on this 64 cent. I do know it's not from weathering or exposure because it's been sitting in a jar with about 5000 other cents for the past 50 years. It weighs 3.10 IMG_4354.JPG IMG_4353.JPG IMG_4352.PNG

    Possibly the one side was facing out, towards sunlight and toned this way. It also might originally have been a coin at the end of the roll that was faced out and stored that way for some time until it was dumped into the jar. Same effect.
