A few days before Christmas I went to the local coin shop to see if he had mint sets as I wanted to get some for my kids for gifts. He did not have the years I wanted and said that he has not been getting to many in as he is only offering 60% of grey sheet prices to people who come in to sell them to him. Is that the going rate dealers are offering?
collect: 60% is very low, usually about 10 to 15 % under sheet. In fact, in the old days, about five years ago, there was a dealer who regularly bought them for 20% back of bid, and that was occassionally under face!
I would agree that 40% under is low, but I know of far more dealers that offer 20% under than I do those who offer 15% under.
