I have been going thru some old Wheats that I put away years ago. This one jumped out. I did a search and could not find a match. What do you think? The MM has almost full separation and is rotated between the D and touches the 5. Yes it is raised.
I think I see what you are looking at. But it's a distance shot. I took a look at Coppercoins for something like it, but I didn't see anything resembling your specimen. Can you get an isolated shot of the Date and MM?
What are we looking at exactly?? I voted "I can't see" because I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Please help me to see?
I figured it would be to hard to see. Here is what it looks like in hand. One of these days I will get a scope.
See above. Glad I put that vote in there. The MM is very weak. The top of the upright and the bottom curve @ the D is the strongest.
It's ok but the angled picks show deterioration that isn't there. It is soaking in some distilled water. I will try for a clearer photo.
So, we know your answer. Thanks for opining. I was truely hoping someone would say Pareidolia. This is the least pixelated photo I can get.
I would still like to hear any others opinions. I am going to go sit in the corner, and put away the coins. Drives me nuts, to not be able to show what is easily seen under a 4X lens.
You're a hard sell, what am I going to tell you? But to attribute that as an RPM would be to be laughed out of the business, in my opinion. These 1950s RPMs are some of the most prolific and clearly-defined in the business. We've a number of them. Many here do. You find one, you know it, there's little guesswork involved. That's the good news. Look, lots of luck. Maybe I'm wrong. It would be the first time ever, here, of course.
Although it probably won't matter, I have to agree with the horse. I do not see it as an RPM either. IMO, Jim
I am fully understood as to what it takes to get a coin attributed. You are jumping to conclusions. No one said add this one to the registry. The Last coin that I posted like this was a 60D small date that I found a die match. No it wasn't an RPM. But it was in the tilted die files on Maddie clashes. So thank you for your all-knowing opinion. Seems you have seen my coin in hand and I didn't even know it.
In this photo I do see what you are describing between the nine and the five, north and east of the strong MM. Weather or not it’s a RPM I can’t tell from the picture.
